Novak Djokovic and Marian Vajda are one of the most successful player-coach pairings in the history of tennis winning numerous trophies together.

Due to some differences, they split up for a 2nd time this year with Goran Ivanisevic taking over as the coach of Novak Djokovic. Vajda in the meantime was looking forward to spending more time at home with his family however he is back to coaching once more. Reports have since come out that Djokovic's vaccine stance might have soured the relationship between the two but nothing is confirmed.

Vajda was recently in Belgrade watching Djokovic play Rublev in the Serbia Open final. Now they might face each other in Paris as Djokovic might play Molcan in the 3rd round of the event with Vajda in Molcan's corner. Asked about that, Novak said:

"I've written to Marian a few days ago, we have seen each other here as well. When I looked at the draw, it wasn't easy, I must admit. Molcan for me is an opponent just like any other, but I've never had Marian in the opposing box. To be honest, I am not looking forward to it."

Molcan will still need to reach the 3rd round for that to happen but the Slovakian has been playing really good tennis this year so there is a good chance he will get it done.
