Emma Raducanu was struggling to deal with Linda Noskova, a 17-year old qualifier, who was hitting the ball very hard.

Noskova hit over 30 winners in the opening set to win it in the tiebreak against Raducanu who was seeing flashbacks to what she was doing to others at the US Open. Now, on the received side, Raducanu was not particularly amused especially after falling behind in the 2nd set. She kept battling and was able to win the 2nd set showing maturity and patience.

In the 3rd, Noskova could not hold her level and the Brit cruised to a 6-1 finish. Speaking after the match, Raducanu praised her opponent heavily saying:

"Noskova, she's pretty young, but she's definitely powerful. She hits the ball extremely hard. I was finding as soon as I was dropping my ball short she was all over me."

She continued:

"I just thought, 'You know, you've got to go out doing something.' So I started hitting the ball much better, I think, and keeping her off-balance. She was definitely hitting some great shots. Even on the run on her backhand wide she was hitting the line so well. But I think I just found a better way."
