Nick Kyrgios won his round one match in Montreal setting up a clash against Medvedev and he's looking forward to it.

Kyrgios came out on fire against Sebastian Baez and he kept his level high throughout the one hour and 25 minute clash advancing to the next round. It was a good result for Kyrgios who is coming off of a long and successful week in Washington that quite possibly drained him:

“Physically I feel fine. Mentally just so tired. I haven’t had much sleep the past couple of days, but I am trying to put that behind me already. I am in Montreal and I haven’t played great tennis in Montreal in the past, so I wanted to come out here today and get that match up against Medvedev next. It will be a lot of fun. I just want to create some good memories in Montreal.”

Kyrgios and Medvedev played three times in the past with the Australian winning two of those. The most recent one, played at the Australian Open was won by Medvedev. Kyrgios is excited about the matchup and he'll use it to see where he's at with his level:

"Medvedev is a hell of a player. His style is so unorthodox, he is a great competitor and he is just an animal. I am looking forward to seeing where I am at.”
