Ibiza Vacation Helped Alcaraz To 'Turn Off His Mind' & Forget Djokovic Loss

Carlos Alcaraz took a minor break following his Roland Garros exit and he's now ready to get back to competing on grass.

Alcaraz's Roland Garros journey ended with a very disappointing finish against Novak Djokovic in the semi-final. It was something that he needed to forget quickly so he went to Ibiza to reset a bit before the grass season.

Grass hasn't been the best surface in the past for Alcaraz but he's ready for the challenge. This will be his first time at the Cinch Championships after he missed out on the event last year. He comes with a refreshed mind, renewed hunger, and a signature smile which never leaves him while he's playing tennis.

"It is important to enjoy your life a bit as well. It is really important to come back to tennis feeling good."

It's even more important to come back with good vibes after putting yourself through the wringer at Roland Garros. Winning a few matches could go a long way for Alcaraz who is well aware of his reality on grass. Asked about his brief vacation, Alcaraz mentioned Ibiza, noting that it was a good location to turn his mind off a bit.

It was a good location and I like that kind of time to turn off your mind. I thought about the match against Novak and what happened, to take positive things about that and also trying to learn, but it was just the first one or two days after the match. After that, it's a chance to forget that match and focus on going to the grass season.

The grass is a challenge for Alcaraz as he noted more than once that it's the toughest surface for him. He needs to be very focused to perform his best but even then there are certain limitations which he's aware of.
