'I Feel Him': Alcaraz Sends Emotional Message To Sinner Following Appeal Of His Doping Case

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have a healthy rivalry, and the Spaniard sent some warm words to Sinner following the news of his doping case being appealed.

Alcaraz and Sinner are the top two players in the world right now. According to the likes of Novak Djokovic and many analysts, they are set to lead the sport in the next decade.

Both players would likely agree with that assessment but not openly admit it, as they are both quite humble. Alcaraz is the more outspoken of the two and offered words of encouragement to Sinner after the news of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) appealing his doping case.

The end result of the appeal could mean that Sinner would potentially be out of the sport for up to two years. Even if the end results ends up being positive for him, even the appeal itself adds stress that he didn’t require, and the Italian has been quite open about his disappointment that things have unfolded this way.

He was certain that the situation was over. Alcaraz understands the difficulty of the situation because, as a professional player, he just wants to be able to play without worrying that someone or something might take it away from him.

When asked about the situation at the 2024 China Open, where they both compete, the Spaniard took the opportunity to send some encouraging words toward his rival.

"Well, it's difficult. I know that is a really difficult point. It is difficult for him. I know everyone is talking about it; the news is talking about it. Probably, as he said before New York, the people started to look at him in a different way. I don't know how it can be. But for sure, I understand the position. I feel him."

It was a nice moment from Alcaraz, who clearly enjoys his rivalry with Sinner. He’s spoken about it a few times, noting how he hopes it becomes something similar to what Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer had between them. Both players are healthy competitors, which is the foundation of any great rivalry.

Alcaraz then went on to praise Sinner for everything he’s been able to accomplish recently, especially considering the challenges he’s faced. He mentioned how incredible that was and expressed hope that Sinner would continue performing at a high level, as it would be great for tennis and their rivalry.

"But anyway, the game and the level that he's playing with everything he's been through right now, it's insane. He's able to put all the things aside when he steps on the court, playing good tennis, is unbelievable."

"I hope that this thing, this term will be aside soon and he's able to stay focused on what he loves, and that is playing tennis, trying to keep going. All I can say is I hope that with his people around, his close people and him, not going to feel bad these next months."
