Alexander Zverev recently withdrew from the ATP 1000 events in Montreal and Cincinnati and his US Open participation remains in doubt.

The German was the finalist in the Flushing Meadows in 2020 and fans would love to see him at the US Open also this year. However, after a horrible injury that he picked up at the 2022 Roland Garros, things are not looking very good for Alexander Zverev.

Only recently he started practicing again, but it was mostly his upper body that was used during the practice as his legs still need some time. Despite already withdrawing from tournament in Montreal and Cincinnati, Alexander Zverev still hopes to compete at the 2022 US Open, when he said:

"Of course I will still try to make the US Open,” Zverev said at a press conference in Hamburg. “Although it will be very, very close. Maybe I could say I'm ready. Best-of-five is difficult. Every day it really gets better. That's why I don't want to say yet that I won't play the US Open."
