Emma Raducanu is hoping she'll be able to play at the Australian Open after injuring her ankle at the Auckland event.

During a match against Kuzmova in Auckland, Emma Raducanu hurt herself. The British player was playing quite well, winning the first set 6-0, but she lost the second set as her level dipped due to the injury. She gave up and said confirmed the Australian Open is very much in doubt.

"It was really unfortunate last week cause I was feeling great about my season. I was feeling really good with the preparation I did physically. I just had an accident on the court. Don't know what I could have done to prevent that," said Raducanu during an interview in Australia.

She is doing everything she can to be ready for the Australian Open but there is not much she can do to speed up the natural recovery process. She's taking it day by day and seeing what happens:

"Just taking it a day at a time, every single day try as best as possible to see and make progress. Hopefully by Monday or whenever I'll be okay and ready."
