Holger Rune Joins Growing List Of Top 10 Players Signing Up For 2024 Rotterdam Open

Holger Rune has joined a growing list of Top 10 ranked players who are set to play at the 2024 Rotterdam Open.

The Rotterdam Open is a very popular ATP 500 event that is usually held at the start of the year. It's part of the early indoor tennis month in Europe after the Tour moves away from Australia and the Australian Open to the European indoor courts.

Due to the amazing environment many top players make Rotterdam a stop in their calendar. We've seen Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Jannik Sinner, and others play there several times in the past.

This past edition of the event saw five top 10 ranked players in the draw. Next year's edition is shaping up to be a pretty great one as well, with the number of top 10 ranked players increasing.

Like last year, Holger Rune, who recently hired Boris Becker for the 2024 season, will be in the mix, and tournament director Richard Krajicek is happy to see him again, as he said on the official website of the ABN AMRO Open.

In my opinion, Holger Rune is one of the players we will see structurally in the top 5 in the coming years. A potential Grand Slam winner. It is therefore great that he has now chosen to come to the ABN AMRO Open again. He combines sublime technique with an absolute will to win. That makes it a pleasure to watch him.

With the addition of Rune, the event now has four top players already committed to playing next year. Besides Rune, Daniil Medvedev also signed up, as did Andrey Rublev and Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Alexander Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas could be pretty safe bests as well, due to their past participation. Either way, the event should retain its prestige among tennis players as a stepping stone between the Australian Summer and Sunshine Double events in March.
