Dimitrov & Badosa start with win over Thiem & Pavlyuchenkova at World Tennis League

Grigor Dimitrov and Paula Badosa, representing The Falcons, pulled off a thrilling victory against Dominic Thiem and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of The Hawks in the 2022 World Tennis League in Dubai.

The match started off with both teams evenly matched as The Falcons had two break points as well as The Hawks. Fans in Dubai saw no breaks until the third round of serves as both Dimitrov and Thiem were broken.

Then, The Hawks managed to add one more break and win the first set 7-5. However, Dimitrov and Badosa came back strong in the second set, winning 6-3 and forcing a decisive super tie-break.

In the end, it was Dimitrov and Badosa who emerged victorious. They got a massive lead in the super tie-break, winning the first five points and eventually winning the tiebreak 10-4.

Their victory will no doubt give them and their team confidence as they move forward in the tournament. In the upcoming women's singles match, Elena Rybakina (The Hawks) will play against Aryna Sabalenka (The Falcons).

Then, men's singles match will concluded the tie as Novak Djokovic (The Falcons) will play against Alexander Zverev (The Hawks).
