The return of Naomi Osaka is nearing as the Japanese player confirmed her participation at the 2024 Brisbane International in January.

We've known for a while that Naomi Osaka is gearing up for a comeback in 2024, but it becomes more palpable with each day. Most of us probably won't believe it until we see her actually play a match, but Brisbane International unveiled Osaka as part of their lineup for the event coming up in about two months.

The new season is approaching fast, and it's going to come with Naomi Osaka back in the fold. She's been away for a long time due to a pregnancy, which concluded well as she gave birth to her first child.

Since then, it's been a really dedicated grind for Osaka to get back in tennis shape as her return is looming. She rehired her former coach to help with that, and the first event back will be the Brisbane tournament for the four-time Grand Slam champion.

They themselves announced it on social media, and Osaka reacted by adding a few words to the announcement.

She underlined her excitement to come back to Brisbane as it's been a while since she played there.

"First tournament next year. So excited, I haven’t been to Brisbane in a while."

Osaka reacts to the announcement.

Fans will be delighted to see her back on the courts, especially in Australia, where she traditionally plays some of her best tennis. She won the Australian Open two times, the last one coming in 2021, and who knows, perhaps we see the perfect fairytale comeback.

It's not impossible because she is one of the best players at her peak. Fans not seeing her play at her best in a long time doesn't change that. You don't forget to play tennis like that, especially not as well as she does.
