Keys Reveals How Fiancé Helped Her With Coaching During Successful Wimbledon Run

Madison Keys had a really solid run at the 2023 Wimbledon, and she had great help from her longtime boyfriend, Bjorn Fratangelo.

The American is a tennis player too, but never quite figured things out and achieved a high level. Frantagelo is a solid player generally though he hasn't been the luckiest with his health recently. He's currently away from tennis but hopeful about playing in the US in the coming weeks.

As he was away from the sport, Fratangelo, who became engaged with Keys in March, had a lot of free time, and Keys enlisted his help for the grass season after going through the clay season alone. She was asked about his help and detailed the way in which he helped her during the grass season.

Yeah, he's obviously been very beneficial. We've had a really great few weeks. Here, I mean, he's really just kind of helped me enjoy being on the tennis court. There's been just some, I mean, a few things here and there.

Overall just really time on court, just kind of trying to get me to relax and take a little bit of pressure off of myself. I think when you have one of your biggest supporters standing there, especially after the French Open, a tough time for me, just kind of having that constant support I think was the biggest difference.

Her run at Wimbledon ended against Aryna Sabalenka, even though she had some chances. It's a shame, but she still produced a really solid level earning some good wins like the one over rising tennis phenom Mirra Andreeva. When it comes to her boyfriend, she shared some of his plans for the future.

He's actually been injured, so he wasn't playing himself. I did the clay court season by myself. Just when I got home asked if he would be willing to help me on the grass. He wants to play. He obviously would want to play this summer in the U.S. We'll see how he is. That's kind of all that we have. We don't really have any sort of plan.
