"I was going through a tough time" - Andreescu on declining Break Point participation

Bianca Andreescu was one of the players approached for the first season of Netflix's Break Point but she turned it down as it wasn't a very good time for her.

Many were taken aback when Andreescu quit tennis to refocus and look after her mental health. Six months later, she decided to come back, and it turned out to be the right move. Her mood has improved, her tennis has improved, and everything is going well.

Yeah, so I actually got offer to be in first season but I turned it down because first of all, I was going through a hard time and I just really wanted to focus on my tennis. One thing was that I didn't want, kind of, cameras to be around me all the time.

The show itself filled its roster of players rather easily and there is a season two in the works. She hasn't been approached yet but Andreescu would be open to participating after talking to players and seeing how it was for them.

I spoke to some of the players and they told me it wasn't bombarding whatsoever. They were very respectful and yeah so if they ask me to do it again, I definitely won't back down.
