Rennae Stubbs is a huge believer in the talent of Alycia Parks as she backed the American to make the top 10 in 2023.
Parks finished last year with a series of trophies in smaller WTA events indoors. She added her maiden WTA trophy last week in Lyon, also indoors. Her serve was firing on all cylinders and her raw power is something that not many can match.
Her serve is, I’m telling you, when they’re coming at me… Oh my god, it’s like Serena peak, that’s how good her serve is when it goes in. I’m telling you, she’s a potential top-10 player within the next 12 months. She’s got to keep, obviously, the body healthy. She’s a strong girl, really wants it, she has a great head on her shoulders.
Stubbs further asserted that Parks has great talent and the necessary skill to be a grand slam champion one day. She watched her closely at the US Open when she practised against Serena Williams and she was impressed.
I think she’s a great talent and there’s a great upside for her. She has every power tool in the world, and without question can be a Grand Slam champion one day if she keeps putting the work in. She is good, really good.
