Rennae Stubbs is an Australian tennis coach and former professional player who competed on the WTA Tour between 1992 and 2011.

Rennae Stubbs was born in Sydney, Australia on March 26, 1971. Her tennis career began on the ITF Circuit in 1988, where she achieved widespread success, often with fellow Australian player Kate McDonald in doubles. Stubbs was generally a doubles specialist throughout her professional career.

However, she reached a career-high of 64th in the WTA Rankings and competed at nine Grand Slam main draws. Most of her career success came in doubles and she won 60 WTA-level titles throughout her career. Her first doubles title came at the 1992 Asian Open with Helena Sukova.

Stubbs ended her career with six Grand Slam titles - four in women’s doubles and two in mixed doubles. She won four of her major titles alongside Lisa Raymond and one with Cara Black. Jared Palmer and Todd Woodbridge partnered Stubbs for her Australian Open and US Open Grand Slam titles in mixed doubles.

In addition, the Australian great played at four consecutive Olympics. Stubbs’ first appearance came in the 1996 Atlanta Games, where she lost in the first round. However, she played in doubles at the next three Olympics and reached the quarter-finals in the 2004 Athens Games. Stubbs ended her career by winning her final event at the 2011 Washington Kastles.

he then moved into TV punditry, working for ESPN, NBC, and Amazon. However, the Australian moved into coaching in 2017 and worked with Karolina Pliskova. Stubbs helped Pliskova to reach the quarter-finals of the US Open and the semi-finals at the Australian Open. The Czech player also won two titles with Stubbs as his coach.

Stubbs also worked with Samantha Stosur from 2019. Stosur won the 2021 US Open doubles title with Stubbs as her coach. The former Australian player then started coaching Eugenie Bouchard in 2020. Bouchard rose from 330th position in the rankings to 120th under Stubbs’ guidance.

At the 2022 US Open, Stubbs coached Serena Williams, the WTA great, as she played her final tournament at Flushing Meadows.
