Coco Gauff admitted that she enjoys designer pieces, but she doesn’t enjoy spending money on them.

Gauff is one of the most prominent faces in tennis and, as such, earns a lot of money. The American has a refined taste when it comes to fashion, admitting in a recent interview that she enjoys designer brands.

She's hardly the only one who does, but similar to many, she doesn’t really enjoy the price tag that they come with. Gauff, who is still very young, is very mindful of money, which is something her upbringing has taught her.

Despite being in a privileged position to earn sums that most people could only dream of, Gauff is very careful with her money. Even though she enjoys lots of expensive things, she doesn’t really spend money on them.

When it comes to a specific brand, Gauff admitted that she enjoys Louis Vuitton quite a bit but, again, doesn’t spend money on it.

"I would say my favorite designer brand is Louis Vuitton. I like big brands, but I hate spending money. It's a once-in-a-while thing. If I do well in a tournament, I say, ‘Okay, I'm going to buy myself something nice.' I like to buy things for other people, my mom, my family. I like to spoil them a little bit."

One way Gauff decides what is worth buying or not is simply by looking at the price. If the price is high and she won’t use it often, it doesn’t make much sense to buy it.

"For myself, when I like it, I look at the price, ‘Am I really going to wear this the amount of times worth this amount of money?’ Most of the time the answer is no. I do have a couple of things in my closet that were a lot of money, but I'm glad that I bought them."

Most recently, she played at the Italian Open in Rome, which is one of the two clay-court WTA 1000 tournaments, but ran into Maria Sakkari, who bested her. Up next for her is the French Open.
