Coco Gauff had a really good feeling about her match against Maria Sakkari at the 2023 China Open, and she wasn't wrong.

The American produced a sensational effort to beat Sakkari for the second time in a couple of months, extending her winning streak to 16 matches. It's a continuation of a great week in Beijing, which started a few days ago when she won her first match as a Grand Slam champion.

She hopes to keep it going and it looks likely that she will considering how confident she's feeling right now. She spoke about that following her win over Sakkari, a win that was never in doubt according to Gauff. She simply knew she would win.

When I stepped on the court, some days you just feel like no matter what’s going to happen, you’re going to win. It’s nothing to do with the opponent. It’s just like how you’re feeling. That’s how I felt when I stepped on court today.

It's a very bad sign for the rest of the field, including Iga Swiatek, who is set to face her next. Gauff is feeling amazing on the court and likes the shots she's getting. It was just a good day for her, and she's hoping to have one more against Swiatek.

Yeah, there was like shots that I was making, not that I was surprised I was making them, but probably as consistently. I think today was just one of those days where I felt comfortable. It has nothing to do with how Maria played. I think honestly when I woke up today, I just felt good.
It’s a rare feeling as an athlete. I had this feeling last year in San Diego when I played Kalinina – I think. It felt similar to that today. San Jose, not San Diego.
