Coco Gauff extended her winning streak at the 2023 China Open as she's through to the semi-final, where she'll play against Iga Swiatek.

Tennis fans in the Chinese capital will rejoice with the news that Gauff will take on Swiatek in the semi-final. It comes after both of them did their part by beating their opponents. Swiatek bested Caroline Garcia in a very tight battle earlier in the day.

Gauff didn't have those issues as she cruised easily past Maria Sakkari to book the semi-final. The same thing happened in the Citi Open final two months ago, which became her biggest trophy at that time. She'd add a few more, something named the US Open, and is still winning.

This one is her 16th match in a row as she improved to 22-1 in her last 23 matches. We predicted her win in our preview and it came true because the matchup is just a bad one for Sakkari, especially in conditions like these.

The opening set demonstrated that well, as she jumped out to an early 4-0 lead and cruised after that. Sakkari struggles against Gauff for the same reason anybody struggles. She's the best athlete on Tour, and breaking her down is impossible without playing sensational tennis. If you don't have it, then you're in trouble.

Sakkari didn't have it today, and it proved a problem, especially as the American now attacks as opposed to just waiting on things to happen. The second set was a bit closer initially, but in time, the American found some solutions and cruised to the finish line.

The final score was 6-2 6-4 for Gauff, who is set to face Iga Swiatek for a spot in the final. She struggled greatly with her in the past but bested her in their most recent clash at the Cincinnati Masters. Can she make it two in a row?
