Caroline Garcia dramatically improved in the second half of 2022 and it saw her rise to the top 10 with a WTA finals trophy as well.
The sudden rise of Caroline Garcia came out of nowhere and surprised many but it was the product of a lot of hard work and soul-searching. She finally understood what type of tennis she wants to play and practice with a vision. That on top of other things contributed to the rise.
I don't think it's only one thing. ... I was able to practice and to play tournaments with a vision, you know. It was not just, 'OK, I know I can play two matches but no more.' I was feeling more and more confident in my body to be able to train and to play a lot of matches.— Garcia on her 2022 rise<br>
Her level improved more and more as time went on which is due to her confidence rising as well. She finished the year on a high note winning the WTA Finals. The goal is to continue with good tennis and hopefully add a few more trophies.
And then that time off tennis also made me realize what kind of game style I want to play, which game style I'm enjoying on court. When I came back, that was what I wanted to do.
