The 2022 Silicon Valley Classic is a premier WTA 500 event running from August 1st till August 7th with a $757,900 prize pool.

As the event is a WTA 500 event the prize money is fairly high and the prestige of the event drew a pretty strong field of players. It will be the 50th edition of the event with Maria Sakakri heading the strong field that also features Paula Badosa as the 2nd seed, Ons Jabeur as the 3rd seed and Aryna Sabalenka as the 4th seed.

The defending champion is Danielle Collins but she won't be back this year to try and defend her trophy. Kasatkina, who lost that final, is back and she will try to go further this year. The winner of the event will get $ 116,340 and 470 points. The losing player in the final will get $ 71,960 and 305 points. Semi-finalists will get $ 42,010 and 185 points.
