As a historic and esteemed WTA event that had statuses at WTA tier II, Premier, and WTA-500 levels, many of the greatest ever players won the Silicon Valley Classic throughout its 53-year history. Former US player Billie Jean King was dominant in the early stages of the competition.

Between 1971 and 1974, the 12-time Grand Slam winner lifted the title three times. US players continued to achieve continuous success at the Silicon Valley Classic. Chris Evert, Lindsay Davenport, and Serena Williams are just some of the former victors.

However, Martina Navratilova holds the record for most wins at the tournament. The Czech-American former player won the Silicon Valley Classic a record five times. Daria Kasatkina won the final edition of the tournament in 2022.

Several former singles winners also did well in the doubles competition at the Silicon Valley Classic. Navratilova, Evert, and King all lifted multiple doubles titles in addition to their singles victories.

Davenport was the most decorated winner in the doubles event, winning a record six times. In the final event in 2022, Chinese doubles pair Xu Yifan and China Yang Zhaoxuan beat Shuko Aoyama and Chan Hao-ching in the final.
