16-Year-Old Superstar Andreeva Confirms Her Schedule For the Rest Of the Season

Tennis phenom Mirra Andreeva is out of Wimbledon but she's already thinking about the upcoming events on the WTA Tour.

Andreeva had a really strong showing in London comfortably cruising through the qualifiers to book her first main draw Wimbledon appearance. A couple of wins in the main draw secured her first second week at the event but she didn't manage to advance past the 4th round.

Facing experienced veteran Madison Keys, Andreeva took the opening set and played well in the second but couldn't quite get it done. Even so, the experience will prove very valuable as she continues to build her career moving forward.

On the topic of her future in tennis, Andreeva was asked what her plans are regarding the next events and she confirmed that for now, it's a minor break before a return on clay at the WTA event in Lausanne - the 2023 Lausanne Open. After that, it's obviously the US Open though she didn't mention any of the WTA 1000 events. It seems unlikely that she would skip them but there is a possibility.

After this tournament for sure I will take some days off just to relax and not to play tennis. I don't want to play tennis for a few days, for sure. After I will be back on clay and I will play Lausanne, WTA 250. I will play there. After I think I'll play US Open.

The Russian has a great chance to gather many points until the end of the year, points that will allow her to improve her ranking and put her in a great spot for next year. She'll have better draws and plenty of chances to go deep at events, especially if she improves her level.

She will also have more pressure though as an established player with points to defend. We've seen in the past how young players can be affected by that.
