Former ATP player Viktor Troicki was present at the US Open to support Serbia's Hamad Medjedovic; however, he was in an argument with a furious fan.

Medjedovic is a rising talent from Serbia whom many consider an heir to Novak Djokovic. He's not the talent that Djokovic is, but even the legend called him a player that will lead Serbian tennis in the future and supports him. As Serbia's Davis Cup Team Captain, Troicki found himself in the stands supporting Medjedovic; however, a fan started to argue with the Serbian.

Video footage shows a fan hurling all sorts of insults towards Troicki, with security personnel intervening to prevent the incident from worsening. Luckily it only ended in exchanged words and nothing more, but the scenes were still shocking to observe as it's very uncommon for tennis.

The whole thing took about 15 minutes to finish, leaving many questioning whether the event was equipped to handle any potential brawl. Just because it doesn't happen doesn't mean that it can't happen in the future, and failing to protect players and their teams would be a terrible look.

This f*ing crybaby, he can't stand someone cheering a f*ing player. It's the US Open. It's 12 million f*ing people in here. We're all f*** loud. F*** clown. We're cheering you d*. It's New York not f*ing Serbia. Then about the security person bit. He won't f***ing stop. This a****le told me to shut up.

Despite the incident, the fans were permitted to remain on the grounds of the complex which is another questionable move. Medjedovic ultimately lost the match in three sets so the fans probably got what they were hoping for. Troicki did not speak to any media, nor has he talked about the incident since it happened.
