As quickly as Carlos Alcaraz smashed Denis Shapovalov, so did the Roland Garros security drag out of a photo reporter during the match.
This year's Roland Garros is not lacking in the content department. Besides some amazing tennis moments which for example saw Daniil Medvedev reignite his feud with clay and pack his bags after losing to Thiago Seyboth Wild, we also saw some other moments that entertained all of us.
Unlike Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz largely stayed free of the drama going on opting to let his tennis do the talking. It's been doing the talking or rather baking as Alcaraz trails only Swiatek in the number of bagels served at this year's Roland Garros.
He added another impressive win to his resume by beating Denis Shapovalov in straight sets. Unfortunately, this match was overshadowed by something that happened away from the court or rather right next to the court.
At one point in the match, security dragged out a photo reporter by force leaving more than a few people stunned at what was going on. It's unclear what the reason was but he wouldn't have been dragged out by force if followed all the rules or behaved properly. There is actual footage of the incident with the Eurosport Polska posting it on social media.
The Spaniard didn't address the incident during his post-match press conference but he wasn't asked about it either. He did speak about the tennis balls admitting that he would like to keep the same ball at every event during the season.
That's one of the rules he would implement if he had the power to do so. Alcaraz also spoke about facing Musetti in the next round highlighting the need to play with force against him. If you want to see another type of force, check out the video of the reporter being literally 'carried' off the court.
