It's not a secret that Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas are not friends but their last meeting was really frosty.
Both players are currently competing at the 2023 Italian Open in Rome and as at the majority of the ATP tournaments, it's quite logical that they meet every now and then. However, not often are their meetings also captured on the camera.
This was the case at Foro Italico as the two crossed paths at the famous bridge under which fans often wait to see the players as some even interact every now and then. Only yesterday, Alexander Bublik was seen giving autographs and taking pictures there, but the meeting between Medvedev and Tsitsipas was of a different nature.
The two were coming from different directions and both were greeting fans. Yet, it was obvious that they will meet in the middle of the bridge and as it's often with handshakes in the matches, fans couldn't wait to see how will their meeting go.
And how did it go? Frosty as expected. The two barely looked at each other and didn't exchange a single word. It comes shortly after Medvedev took a shot at the Greek player after Tsitsipas said that the Russian's good friend, Andrey Rublev has 'a few tools'.
However, there were also things that the two agreed on over the past few months. Only recently, Medvedev voiced his displeasure with some tennis balls, debating whether they may be causing injuries to players. Only a few weeks later, Tsitsipas joined him, saying that he thinks that his injury might have been caused by the same balls.
For now, it remains to be seen whether the two will meet also on the tennis court in Rome, but if yes, the match will be surely highly-anticipated. Medvedev is the third seed while Tsitsipas is seeded fifth and their meeting can come already in the semifinals.
