WATCH: Djokovic Mic'd Up During His Practice At Wimbledon

by Sebastian Dahlman

Novak Djokovic is in London for Wimbledon as the Serbian is set to defend his trophy and possibly claim Grand Slam number 24.

The Serbian didn't play a warm-up ATP event which traditionally has been the case lately and it's worked really well for him. He did play a warm-up match at the Hurlingham exhibition which is what he did last year when he cruised to another trophy.

He's largely expected to do that again as he's the overwhelming favourite. How could he not be when he has more Wimbledon wins than the rest of the top 20 at the event combined. There is always a chance that things could go badly for Djokovic but it's a minor one. His familiarity and comfort level on the Centre Court at Wimbledon is legendary.

He hasn't lost on it for 10 years and his return to the court saw him being mic'd up for the practice. It's not the first time tennis players have been mic'd up as we've seen that at the Ultimate Tennis Showdown exhibition but it's not a common occurrence for Wimbledon practices. Getting the defending champion on the mic in his first practice at the event was a good idea.

I feel like I'm on cloud nine right now. So good. By far the best grass court in the world obviously. Perfect bounce. Good for playing. Good for watching. Good for standing on it. It's so enjoyable. Such a thrill. I'm not used to hitting the ball and speaking sorry.

Djokovic during the session

Djokovic was all smiles during the practice session which is no surprise. He's feeling very confident about his chances, especially after rolling through Paris not long ago and then taking a nice vacation with his family on a remote island in the Atlantic Ocean.
