Denis Shapovalov lost the compass a little bit in a crucial moment against Lorenzo Sonego cursing out the crowd from the top of his lungs.

Clashes between players and the spectators are nothing unusual but rarely do you see a player screamingly curse out an entire stadium. Well, it happened in the match between Shapovalov and Sonego at a crucial time in the match. At 40-40, Shapovalov's point got overturned by the umpire Haig which did not make Shapovalov happy as it resulted in the advantage for Sonego.

He approached the net to show the mark with the umpire disagreeing and Shapovalov crossing the net to show it closer. That is not allowed by rule which forced the umpire to give him a code violation which was his 2nd in the math resulting in a point penalty losing him the game.

He asked for the supervisor to talk to him with the supervisor explaining to him the rule and why it was enforced. The crowd was booing heavily the entire time making it hard to understand what was being said between Denis and the supervisor and that pushed Shapovalov over the top. He turned to the crowd and screamed:

"Shut the f*ck up"

By rule, Shapovalov would have gotten a game penalty for his 3rd code violation but he didn't and the match resumed with Sonego serving out the 2nd set with 6-3.
