Despite losing in the semifinal to Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz played probably the shot of the tournament at the 2023 Roland Garros.

The much-anticipated face-off between Djokovic, a 22-time Grand Slam champion, and Alcaraz, a 20-year-old tennis prodigy, proved to be memorable in many ways. This match was particularly significant because it was only the second time the two players had met on the ATP Tour, but didn't end as many wanted it to end.

The match took an unfortunate turn for Alcaraz in the third set. After two hours of play, he experienced severe cramps that forced him to forfeit a game to receive treatment, as cramps are not treatable during gameplay.

One of the most talked-about moments from the match was Alcaraz's magical winner against Djokovic in the second set. With the score at 1-1 and Alcaraz leading 15-0 on his serve, Djokovic played a drop shot in a long rally.

Alcaraz managed to catch it, but his position didn't allow him to respond with a volley to Djokovic's next stroke. In a split-second decision, Alcaraz chased down the ball and played a remarkable forehand shot with the ball almost touching the ground, stunning Djokovic who was at the net.

This incredible shot was a testament to Alcaraz's agility, quick thinking, and skill, a moment that won't be forgotten anytime soon, despite him eventually losing the match in four sets and allowing the Serb to reach the 2023 Roland Garros final.

Despite cramps stopping him from showing more of his magic and producing more shots like the one in the second set, Alcaraz once again proved that he's one of the finest talents that have ever stepped on the tennis court, and if he figures out the cramping situation, maybe no one will stop him. Only time will tell.
