Carlos Alcaraz is very skilled with his hands when it comes to holding a racquet but perhaps not so much when holding a Wimbledon trophy.
The Spaniard produced one of the best efforts of his career to stun Novak Djokovic in the 2023 Wimbledon final. He became the new king in London, winning his second Grand Slam trophy overall, and it's been a dream come true for the World No. 1 on the ATP Tour.
After the win, a video surfaced online showing a very young Alcaraz admitting that he wanted to win Wimbledon one day, and some 8 years later the Spaniard got it done. It's currently Alcaraz mania in the tennis world, as the Spaniard is basically the most wanted man in the world.
Media are scrambling to get a hold of him in order to gather his thoughts as the new champion of Wimbledon, and CNN found him. He was talking to them about his undertaking when the hosts asked him if he could bring the trophy to the forefront to show it off.
He took it but then dropped part of it during the live broadcast laughing at his own clumsiness. The moment obviously became viral rather quickly on social media, and it reminded fans of Iga Swiatek doing a very similar thing.
During the 2023 Roland Garros trophy ceremony, the Polish superstar dropped part of the trophy in front of the whole packed stadium, something she apologized for later on. It seems like clumsiness is just part of the makeup of rising superstars in tennis, as Alcaraz did the same thing.
His reaction was just to laugh it off as he had a big bright smile as he was holding the trophy in the camera, and who could blame him? Life is pretty good right now if you're named Carlos Alcaraz. Check out the moment below.
