Stefanos Tsitsipas faced Novak Djokovic many times, and generally, it didn't go well, which he attributes to the Serbian's imposing presence.

Being a legendary tennis player comes with its own set of perks. For Djokovic, it's the sheer legend of him that makes players play far worse tennis than generally. Of course, part of the struggle is just playing against him because he makes even the best look pretty average.

Still, the presence you feel when you face him can't be underestimated. Tsitsipas talked a bit about that in a conversation with the ATP ahead of the 2023 ATP Finals. He is set to face Djokovic at the event, which will be very tough.

Novak has a very big presence when you're facing him and you can certainly feel it's tough to avoid that presence. He has very good body language and his mental state and clarity when he plays is something you can really see that he's very focused in the task and in the goal that he carries with him.
This is something rare in tennis and there aren't a lot of players that you can actually say that about them. He definitely has that intensified in his game. And that is something that I have absorbed and felt when playing him.

It is indeed rare because we've seen great players who simply don't have it. The Big Three are obviously fresh in our minds, but for the most part, you'd struggle to really find too many players who were winning matches before even stepping out on the court.

Tsitsipas will try his best to avoid losing the match in the locker room ahead of the ATP Finals clash. He hasn't been able to get out of his head when facing Djokovic, which is why Djokovic leads the head-to-head 12-2.
