Tennis Fans Enraged After Djokovic's Controversial Absence From Wimbledon Teaser

Wimbledon posted an official teaser for the upcoming edition of the event but it was missing a prominent part for Novak Djokovic, leaving fans enraged.

Novak Djokovic is one of the greatest players in tennis history, quite possibly the greatest as his recent Roland Garros run proved. An iconic triumph that furthered the legacy of the Serbian is best represented through various records that happened during his journey towards the trophy.

The Serbian will likely extend his legacy further at Wimbledon, an event where he proved almost as dominant as Roger Federer whom everyone considers the best grass-court player of all time. Djokovic won the tournament 7 times, four times in a row, and will likely add another trophy in a month.

How dominant he has been at this year's event is easily shown by the fact that Andy Murray will be the only player to have ever beaten him on a grass court before. One of 127 possible. Even so, the Serb was barely present in the teaser for this year's edition. The video teaser is a minute long yet Djokovic appears in a split second towards the end.

It left many of his fanbase enraged as some players like Coco Gauff, Carlos Alcaraz and others with very little legacy had a bigger spotlight. The accompanying statement of the event also didn't feature Djokovic's name as he skipped over in favour of former leges like Federer, Nadal, Borg, and McEnroe as well as current players like Alcaraz, Kyrgios Jabeur, and more.

Moreover, when the teaser showcased past rivalries, it included the one between Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe, and sisters Serena and Venus Williams. However, from the Big Three, the organizers chose to show Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer as the main rivalry of the tournament, even though the Spaniard won it only twice.

The fans used this to point towards a negative bias towards Djokovic which fans have alleged has been there for years. A great champion of the event, the British crowd never quite grew fond of Djokovic in the same way they back Nadal and Federer and their own Murray in the past.
