Swiatek And Hurkacz Set To Team Up For Mixed Doubles At 2024 Olympics In Paris

Hubert Hurkacz confirmed recently that he will team up with Iga Swiatek for the 2024 Olympics in Paris for the mixed doubles event.

If you think that the Olympics games are coming one year earlier than generally, you're right because the last ones were one year later. Due to the pandemic, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics were actually held in 2021, which means that there will only be three years between that edition and the 2024 edition in France.

The news of Hurkacz and Swiatek teaming up for mixed doubles shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone because we've already seen them do that. They played together at the United Cup earlier this year, and they played really well, pushing Poland far in the competition.

The confirmation, though, came from Hubert Hurkacz personally as the Polish player held a Q and A session on Twitter where he responded to some questions. One of those questions was about playing mixed doubles with Swiatek in Paris, and he confirmed that they will.

Yes, we will play Olympics mixed doubles with Iga!🔥

Hurkacz himself has had a fair bit of doubles experience and plays rather well due to his height and serve. Swiatek is not too shabby herself and she just won another trophy so you don't have to worry about her competitive spirit or talent level.

Both are rather patriotic and would want to get a medal for their country, as Swiatek explained, it's always been a dream for her. Having played in the United Cup together once and possibly once more in the future before the games should give them plenty of time to become a formidable pairing. The event being played on clay could certainly help them, as Swiatek is one of the best movers on the surface.
