Ben Shelton will contest the 2023 US Open semi-final against Novak Djokovic and it's the greatest moment of his career.

Shelton showed a lot of promise earlier this year at the 2023 Australian Open making his way to the quarterfinal, but he didn't move past Tommy Paul. He bested Paul this week in New York, booking a quarter-final against Frances Tiafoe.

A win over Tiafoe sent him to the semi-final where he will face Novak Djokovic and it's the most amazing thing for him. He spoke a bit about the experience following his win over compatriot Tiafoe who was a semi-finalist last year.

Yeah, I'm definitely feeling joy at times during the match. I'd say a lot. When I look over at my box and see my friends and family you know, I enjoy that. I really enjoy the interaction with people when I'm on the court.

The run has taken a toll on his body because he's just not used to going so deep in events. He's also playing mixed doubles which adds to the fatigue, but it's still an enjoyable experience for him, even with the pain he's feeling.

I also enjoy the tennis. You know, it's tough. I'm thinking to myself as I'm walking to get my towel in the fourth set, and it's, like, this is the greatest moment on the tennis court of my life, and I'm in a lot of pain, you know, physically (smiling). But I'm loving it. I think that was just kind of the story of today.

The match against Djokovic will be a complicated one, the toughest he'll ever play. That match will be played on Friday, so don't miss it and if you do, then don't worry, because as always, Tennis Infinity will have a match report ready for you!
