Rafael Nadal snatched the ATP Fans' Favourite award as he was voted by fans around the world as the favourite.
While Nadal's reputation throughout the world was never in doubt, there was always one player who was more popular. This is his first time taking home the prize as the other more popular player won it 19 times overall, including last year. He goes by the name of Roger Federer.
Federer would have probably won this year but he was not nominated as he didn't play one official match this year.
“I am super happy to receive the Fans’ Favourite Award [in] 2022," began Nadal in a video message posted by the ATP on social media.
He continued:
"It makes me feel great. I can’t thank you enough everyone for the support not only for this award, but at the same time for all the support that I receive in every single city and event around the world. That means everything to me, so I am very [much] looking forward to 2023 to share a lot of positive things again. See you soon!”
