Playing Doubles With Alcaraz At Olympics 'Motivation' For Nadal Ahead Of 2024

Carlos Alcaraz admitted earlier this year that he would like to play doubles at the 2024 Olympics with Rafael Nadal, and the experienced Spaniard wouldn't mind either.

Nadal will make a comeback to the ATP Tour in 2024, and while he's realistic about possibly not playing up to his usual level, the Spaniard will try his best and give it one more try. He will pursue a couple of big goals next year if his body permits.

Roland Garros is obviously one major goal, as it's the Grand Slam he's most likely to win out of the four. Having the Olympic Games played on those courts next year as well certainly adds a bit of intrigue to it. During a recent interview with Spanish newspaper AS, he talked about his wish to play again at the games.

As for the Games, on a personal level, I would like to play them one more time. Everyone knows that I have always been a lover of Games. I have lived incredible moments of coexistence, of seeing what sport is in its pure essence.

Whether he plays or not will come down to multiple factors, but there is a chance that we see him in the doubles as well. As the younger Spaniard hinted earlier this year, Nadal and Alcaraz might team up.

Alcaraz spoke about his wish to team up with Nadal to get a medal for Spain. Nadal talked about that as well, admitting that no talks have taken place as of now, but he'd like it, and it would be a big motivation for him.

Regarding the fact of playing doubles with Carlos, I have not had the slightest conversation with him in that regard. But I would also like and it would be a good motivation, another incentive for me to be able to close my Olympic cycle playing with Carlos, with everything he is achieving, with the young people and with the great future he has ahead of him.
