Olympic Gold Medalist Belinda Bencic Gives Birth To Her First Child

The Olympic years are very memorable for former Top 10 player Belinda Bencic, who won a gold medal three years ago and now became a mother in the Olympic year.

Bencic has had some decent success so far in her career, but the pinnacle might have come at the 2020 Olympic Games, where she won the gold medal. It was something that happened unexpectedly for Bencic, and it was a great achievement, maybe the greatest in her tennis career.

That was less than three years ago because the 2020 Olympics took place in 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This year the 2024 Olympic Games will be played, but it's unlikely that Bencic will play at the event, trying to defend her gold medal.

The Swiss player became pregnant nine months ago and has been away from the sport since then. Now, she has given birth to her first child, celebrating the news with her husband, Martin Hromkovic, and her fans on social media.

The Swiss player announced it on social media with a picture that shows a baby sleeping with the caption containing a name and date of birth.

It's going to be a very busy time for Bencic in the coming weeks as she navigates motherhood for the first time in her life. Plenty of players congratulated her on the birth of her daughter, and she now joins the ever-growing club of mothers on the WTA Tour.

There were a few of them in recent years, and all have returned to tennis. Bencic likely will, too, but obviously, she's yet to give any timeline for her return, as she is now focusing on more important things in her life.

It's a new chapter for Bencic, who isn't only a tennis player and a partner anymore, but also a mother.
