Novak Djokovic becomes first player to win 80 matches at each Grand Slam event

Novak Djokovic survived a tricky affair against Son-woo Kwon at Wimbledon to win his 80th match at the Wimbledon.

By doing that Novak Djokovic has now won at least 80 matches at each Grand Slam event which is absolutely incredible. What's even more incredible is the fact that he stands alone in that regard. Neither Nadal nor Federer have won 80+ matches at all the Grand Slams played with Djokovic being the only one that had done it so far.

Rafael Nadal triumphed 112 times at the Roland Garros, but he doesn't have 80 victories at any of the other Grand Slams. He's closest in Australia, where he triumphed 76 times. On the other hand, Roger Federer has 102 wins at Australian Open, 105 at Wimbledon and 89 at the US Open. He only misses 7 victories from the Roland Garros to tie Novak Djokovic.

Speaking after the match Djokovic admitted that it feels good to have achieved such a milestone joking that 100 wins at each is the next goal.

"Now we have got to 80, let's get to 100."
