Novak Djokovic practiced with Marin Cilic on Thursday on the centre court at Wimbledon and he faces uncertainty now after Cilic tested positive.

There are some rumblings coming from London that Djokovic will be subjected to a COVID test which could force him to withdraw from the event if it comes back positive. None of this is official news except the fact that Cilic revealed yesterday that he is COVID positive.

When we take into account that the infection usually takes a few days before presenting with some sort of symptoms there is a pretty decent chance that Cilic had the virus on Thursday when he practised with Djokovic. Depending on how close they came together and the infectiousness of the strain in question, Djokovic might have picked it up.

It's not the first time something like this happened as Nadal practiced with a positive Medvedev last year in Monte-Carlo but he did not catch the virus. It remains to be seen whether Djokovic is as lucky as Nadal but considering that Cilic and Djokovic know each other very well they might have come closer to each other than players do in general. Stay tuned!
