Kyrgios Brings Up Cheating Incident Ahead Of Kokkinakis & Wawrinka Clash At Roland Garros

The second round of Roland Garros will see Stan Wawrinka take on Thanasi Kokkinakis and Nick Kyrgios can't wait to see it.

Nick Kyrgios is away from tennis due to knee surgery that has kept him away from the sport since January. The Australian is getting ready to return during the grass season in preparation for what will be a huge Wimbledon event for him.

He's expected to make a strong comeback on grass but for now, he's content watching sports from his couch. As a Boston Celtics fan, Kyrgios closely followed their NBA Playoffs matchup against Miami Heat, tweeting about the game. It was a disappointing end there but he's hyped about the upcoming Wawrinka-Kokkinakis match in Paris.

KOKK V STAN. LFG HAHAHAHAHA CMONNNNN…. this is what we live for……. Stan don’t wanna lose this one

Kyrgios on the matchup

There is a very specific reason why Kyrgios worded his Twitter post that way and it's because these three have some history. Many years ago Kyrgios earned himself a fine by making an admission on a tennis court that involved Kokkinakis, Wawrinka, and WTA player Donna Vekic.

Wawrinka and Vekic used to date, and according to the Australian, Vekic and Kokkinakis had a moment together which Kyrgios told Wawrinka during their match. The Swiss didn't hear it at the time but found out about it after the match, going off on Kyrgios and demanding a fine. However, when Wawrinka was asked about his next match, he didn't mention the incident.

"Yeah, it's going to be an interesting match, for sure. I think it's the first time we are going to play each other. I know him, I saw him play many, many times. When he's healthy, like he's been this year, he's always a dangerous player."

"He's been a tough player to -- he's been playing well I think this year again. Yeah, it's going to be an interesting match, for sure. I think in general I'm feeling quite good with my game. Hopefully I will be fit and ready for that match."

When it comes to Kyrgios, he'll reunite with Kokkinakis for Wimbledon.
