Rafael Nadal is eyeing a comeback to tennis in 2024, and his uncle Toni is looking forward to some more victories in the future.

The future is not that far away as Nadal is supposed to stand on a tennis court in just a few months, but considering the nature of his injury, most people will believe it once they see it. Nadal was supposed to play on the ATP Tour also this year, but then the recovery dragged out, and ultimately it didn't happen.

Month after month passed until Nadal announced that his comeback would only take place in 2024 as he was going to undergo surgery. It was a huge blow for him but perhaps something he needed to properly prepare for the 2024 season.

It's going to be a big one for the Spaniard who will hope to win a few more events before calling it quits at the end of the year. His uncle Toni Nadal is excited about that even though he can see Nadal extending his career beyond 2024.

Rafa is fine, on vacation, wanting to jump onto the court in 2024. Let’s hope that (Carlos) Alcaraz will let us win something then. He is excited to return and retire on the court.

Nadal jokes about Nadal's comeback

The Spanish coach was attending the Castilla y León Open event where he got a replica of the trophy Nadal won two decades ago. A very young Nadal played at the event and won the trophy, something Toni Nadal vividly remembers.

Winning the Challenger, which was said to be the best in the world, was important to us. It served us well as a good preparation for the US Open. We are very grateful for the effort of everyone who organizes tournaments of this level.
