Nick Kyrgios has traditionally skipped over Roland Garros because he does not enjoy playing on clay however he recently promised to play in 2023.

Kyrgios is not a fan of clay with the Australian easily annoyed by the slow conditions of the courts. He likes fast courts because they allow him to keep points short and sweet, just like how he likes it. It also empowers his serve which is one of the best in the world when working. He hasn't played at the Roland Garros in several years and he won't do so in 2022 either.

He withdrew from the event officially today but recently he surprised fans by saying he would definitely paly in 2023. Many thought Kyrgios had come around about clay as he played at the Houston Clay Championships earlier this year as well however the reason is love. The city of love will host Kyrgios for love because his girlfriend desperately wants to visit Paris.

That's the reason why he will play at the event in 2023. He must have forgotten the Paris Masters in November or maybe he didn't. As Australians they probably would enjoy Paris in May more than Paris in November. Either way, Kyrgios is out of the French Open this year but probably back next year.
