Novak Djokovic had a custom jacket for the Australian Open, for Roland Garros and now for the US Open, but fans are wondering whether the US Open one was meant for something else.
Novak Djokovic has been really strong on branding this year, having custom jackets for his Australian Open and Roland Garros wins. Both of them referenced the number of Grand Slams won, and that was the case with the one he brought out at the US Open as well.
There was the number 24 planted on the jacket referencing number 24, which he won by beating Daniil Medvedev in the US Open final. However, eagle-eyed fans noticed something which created a debate in online circles.
The jacket was all-white, which in itself is not that strange, but the outline around the number 24 was green, so the colour combination got many thinking that the jacket was likely made ahead of the Wimbledon final, which many expected he would win.
He didn't as Alcaraz shocked the world by beating Djokovic in the final denying him number 24 at Wimbledon. Djokovic himself didn't speak on it or confirm anything but it's rather likely when you look at the design.
There is nothing extraordinary about it as it was really plainly white, just like Wimbledon likes it. Some shades of green allude to the grass surface, and that's it. If it were one custom-made for the US Open, we likely would have seen a more colourful design as we did for Roland Garros.
