Carlos Alcaraz underlined his allegiance to coach Juan Carlos Ferrero who coached him from a fairly young age.

The pledge of loyalty follows a question about whether the Spaniard would accept Roger Federer as his coach if the legendary Swiss player offered it. Juan Carlos Ferrero is regarded by Alcaraz as his second father, and he frequently references him in interviews and after matches. They have a close relationship and embraced for the longest time when he won the US Open, even longer than Alcaraz did with his father.

In a Spanish show, where he was a guest, Alcaraz responded to the question: "I couldn't [replace Ferrero with Federer]. I've always said that Juan Carlos is my second father, I wouldn't change him for the world."

It's not the first time Alcaraz spoke highly of Ferrero as he did it multiple times in his past. Just recently he said this:

"Juan Carlos has been very important to me, he has experienced everything that I am experiencing now. It is easier for him to give me advice and at the same time this is very important."
