Alcaraz Wants To Challenge Djokovic 'When He's 100%'

Carlos Alcaraz called Novak Djokovic the best player in the world but he qualified his statement by adding probably hinting that he might believe himself to be better.

Carlos Alcaraz is flying really high right now because he's currently marching toward a title defence at the Miami Oepn which would be his first successful title defence. It's a major thing especially since it's a big event and it proves that he can sustain his winning ways across the years. The Spaniard has a 17-1 record so far with his only loss coming at the Rio Open where injury prevented him from beating Cameron Norrie.

The one matchup fans want to see is him against Djokovic as they looked like the best players this year. Alcaraz craves that match wanting to test himself against the Serb and he would agree that Djokovic is the best player right now but he added probably showing a glimpse of doubt.

I agree with him. When he’s 100%, probably he’s one of or the best player in the world. So I don’t know what to say about that question, just that what Novak has achieved… the level of Novak, for example, in Australia was unbelievable and really high.

Don't think that Alcaraz doesn't see himself as the better player in that matchup because you need if you want to beat Djokovic. He bested him in Madrid last year simply because he believed he can and that's very important when you are facing a legendary player.

Perhaps the matchup does happen again in Madrid or even earlier in Monte-Carlo because that's the first one they should both play. Alcaraz is ready for it.

As I said before, I really want to play against Novak when he’s 100% and I’m sure I’m going to enjoy (it). That’s all I can say right now.
