Nicolas Mahut doesn't think that the GOAT Race will ever have a clear winner because there will always be a debate.

Many consider the greatest of all time (GOAT) race to be wide open, but a lot think that Novak Djokovic will end up as the GOAT because he has the biggest chance to do so.

The Serbian is the healthier one between him and Rafael Nadal, and he looks far more likely to break more records and win more Grand Slams at the moment.

Even so, former ATP doubles World No. 1 player Nicolas Mahut doesn't think it will change anything, as he said in an interview with L'Equipe. According to the Frenchman, the debate will always continue, regardless of the accomplishment.

"Even if he breaks all the records, there will always be a debate (GOAT), which would not be the case if it was Federer or Nadal. Novak is not appreciated at his fair value. I find unfair criticism of all that he has accomplished."

Djokovic himself admitted in Dubai recently that he never dreamed of achieving everything that he did because it seemed so unimaginable. Nobody thought many years ago that winning 20 Grand Slams was likely, but now there is not one, not two, but three tennis players who did it, and they were all part of the same era.

For Djokovic, the only dreams were winning the Wimbledon Championships and becoming the World No. 1 player. He achieved both of those early in his tennis career.

"Well, I could not have imagined it at that point, to be honest. I was dreaming as a kid to be Wimbledon champion, to be No. 1 in the world. I achieved those dreams 2011. After that, of course, I wanted more. I still want more achievements."
