Prominent tennis coach Rick Macci believes that Novak Djokovic could have had 26 Grand Slams by now if he had only taken 'the shot'.
What do Novak Djokovic and Rick Macci have in common? Well, a few things. First of all, they both love tennis, second of all they both have given tennis quite a lot over the years and third of all they are directly tied to 'the greatest of all time' tag.
Djokovic probably has the best chance to become the greatest of all time while Macci coached the greatest of all time among women - Serena Williams. His tennis influence goes far beyond that of course as the American still remains a noted commentator on tennis proceedings.
His even been kind of to talk to us and share some insight about Alcaraz being the most complete tennis player and Coco Gauff's prospects if she ever fixes her forehand.
Some other great hits by Macci include predicting Sabalenka to win multiple grand slams, Raducanu having the potential to become one of the best players in the world, and Naomi Osaka making a strong return to tennis in 2024.
The first among those is still in play to happen at this year's Roland Garros as Sabalenka made her way to her maiden semi-finals at the event. A very exciting 'Handshakebowl' against Svitolina, proved to be a proper microcosm of the event. We didn't get a handshake and we got boos, this year's event signature.
When it comes to Macci, well, he proved to have jokes as well as tennis knowledge. The American reflected on Djokovic's choice not to take a vaccine which ultimately probably cost him a few grand slams impacting his legacy directly.
He did explain that it's a decision he was fine with but Macci framed it rather interestingly while acknowledging that number 23 could be happening this week in Paris.
@DjokerNole can win his 23rd slam because he has the mind the wheels and all the Shots. But he could have about 26 slams by now if he had one more Shot! Vaccine mandate now history but what the JOKER does next is still a mystery.
