Djokovic comfortably cruises past Rublev to Australian Open semifinals

Novak Djokovic seems to be cruising towards his 10th Australian Open and 22nd Grand Slam title in Melbourne.

Since the tournament started, the Serbian's left hamstring has been the main talking point of the event. However, it seems that it's not bothering Djokovic anymore as he's destroying one opponent after another at the 2023 Australian Open.

Previously, he thrashed Alex de Minaur, allowing him to win only five games, and he showed similar performance against Andrey Rublev, as he marked his performance against the Russian as 'the second best' during the on-court interview.

Djokovic started very well when he got an early break and soon added another one to comfortably win the first set 6-1. The 21-time Grand Slam champion was perfect in difficult situations, as four out of seven games played reached a deuce.

The second set was very similar. Rublev had three chances to break his opponent again, but he couldn't use any of those. On the other hand, Djokovic used two out of three break points he had to win the second set 6-2.

Djokovic started the third set with a break again, and despite Rublev's best efforts, he couldn't break the Serbian back and the nine-time Australian Open champion eventually won the match 6-1, 6-2, 6-4 to set up a semifinal clash with Tommy Paul. After the match, he said:

"I can not be happier with my tennis. I love to be playing here, definitely a special court for me."
