The 2023 Australian Open is set to be another well-organized Grand Slam tournament to start the season, with some of the biggest names in tennis set to compete.

Defending champions are Rafael Nadal and Ashleigh Barty, as the former will not be returning to the tournament after retiring in 2022 after her triumph. At this year's event, the focus will be on the likes of Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas from the ATP entry list and Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, and Ons Jabeur, who will compete in the women's singles, all of whom are expected to make a strong showing at the tournament.

As with all major tennis tournaments, the Australian Open offers a range of prize money and points, which is one of the highest on the ATP & WTA Tour. The winner of the tournament will receive $2,975,000 and 2000 points, while the runner-up will take home $1,625,000 and 1200 points in men's singles and 1300 points in women's.

Those that finish their journey in the semi-finals will earn $925,000 and 720 points in men's categories and 780 points in women's, while the quarter-finalists will receive $555,250 and 360 points for men and 430 points for women.

Players who make it to the round of 16 will receive $338,250 and 180 points (men) or 240 points (women), and even those who don't advance beyond the round of 32 will still take home a cash prize of $227,925 and 90 points for men and 130 points for women.

Also, the first rounds of the Australian Open will be very rewarding as players will receive $158,850 for losing in the second round, and they can add 45 points to that on the ATP Tour and 70 for WTA players. For losing in the first round, everyone gets 10 points and $106,250.
