Coric Seemingly Deactivates His Instagram Account After Disappointing Loss

Borna Coric is no more on Instagram, as the Croatian seemingly deactivated his social media account following an early exit from the Canadian Open.

It's been a couple of tough seasons for Borna Coric, who spent a lot of time battling a shoulder injury that almost cost him his career. For a while, the Croatian contemplated stopping playing altogether because he wasn't able to play tennis without pain.

That situation resolved positively, giving him a chance to play tennis, and when he won Cincinnati last year, many assumed that the Croatian was back to his former self. It's a bit more complicated than that because he was back to playing solid tennis but not at his peak.

This year has been a level below all of that, and the latest disappointment seemingly left him very frustrated. He was facing lucky loser Aleksandar Vukic, and the Australian looked like prime Roger Federer out there. Much of that had to do with Coric and his own level, as he didn't really play a good match.

After the match though, Coric deactivated his Instagram account, which started a discussion on social media among fans. It's unclear why he did that, but there are a few pretty solid predictions you could make.

Tennis players have been quite vocal about the abuse they receive following losses, and considering that his loss was a pretty big upset, there were probably a lot of angry comments on his social media.

Other fans sent good wishes to Coric, hoping that everything is fine in his private life though we won't know until he speaks about it. A funny situation in Los Cabos last week got some fans thinking whether he's distracted by something.

We don't know but it's probably just an attempt to step away from it all and focus on his tennis which hasn't been that great lately. A big event is coming up for him (Cincinnati) and an early exit could see him plummet on the rankings.
