Carlos Alcaraz Arrives To Queen's Club Without Coach Ferrero

Carlos Alcaraz arrived in London on Saturday but he didn't arrive with his longtime coach Juan Carlos Ferrero with him.

Carlos Alcaraz generally travels with Juan Carlos Ferrero though that hasn't been always the case. The Spaniard notably was at the US Open without his coach in the early stages though Ferrero naturally arrived for the conclusion of the event.

Generally, Ferrero is with him around the ATP Tour, but he's a family man so at times he skips some events in order to stay back with his family. That's the case this week as Alcaraz gets ready to play at the 2023 Cinch Championships in the week of June 19th.

Despite not being with Ferrero, Alcaraz will have a coach this week as he will be helped out by the very experienced Samuel Lopez who is the current coach of Pablo Carreno Busta. Alcaraz and Carreno Busta are close, having played doubles together in the past.

Ferrero is set to join Alcaraz next week, so a week before Wimbledon. The Spaniard isn't set to play anything but the Cinch Championships so that week will likely be spent finetuning for Wimbledon at the event's practice courts.

The Spaniard is gearing up for a pretty big event as there are many questions following his Roland Garros exit. Wimbledon and grass in general have been a very tough surface for him and playing as many matches as possible before the main event will be crucial for him.

He had a fair run last year but ran into a much better Jannik Sinner who ousted him. This year could see Alcaraz get his revenge and don't think he's not motivated. He will have something to prove in London, especially after the huge disappointment that Roland Garros proved to be. His first match on grass is against French qualifier Arthur Fils.
