Andy Murray made a surprise decision by opting to play on the clay courts in 2022, despite previously announcing that he would skip this part of the season.

The decision saw him take a Madrid Open wild card, which created some sort of controversy of its own, as some players argued that wild cards at the ATP Masters 1000 events should be given to native players, but now his stay in Madrid got even more complicated.

Ahead of the 2022 Madrid Open, the British player is facing a challenge that he did not expect to be facing. He lost his tennis rackets in a luggage mix-up with Iberia Airlines, which prompted him to ask the airline for his lost luggage on Twitter.

It's a common tactic used by influential people, as their large following and many fans who subsequently spam the given recipient often help to solve the problem.

Murray's message indicated that the airline had lost his baggage, which included probably the most important thing for a tennis player: his rackets. He took to Twitter to address the issue.

"Iberia what number or email should passengers use to contact for missing baggage? I need my tennis rackets back."

After his friend and compatriot Liam Broady jokingly told him that "no one cares," after Murray had sent him the same reply recently, the two-time former champion of the ATP 1000 tournament in Madrid confirmed his bag had already been returned to him.

"Seems like Iberia did mate. Bag just arrived at hotel. Tough buddy.”

Despite a minor mix-up and problem for the three-time Grand Slam champion, he eventually got his bags, and that's also thanks to the power of social media, as the airline noticed the problem and solved it promptly.

Now, Murray can focus on solving on-court problems, as he will try to show that his clay tennis is still solid at the 2022 Madrid Open.
